My Perfectionism Journey

Hi, I'm Dr. Christina and I'm a ‘recovering perfectionist.’ I fell into the perfectionism trap of trying to be the perfect daughter, perfect student, perfect employee, have the perfect body, act perfect, and ‘live perfect.’ And much of the time, I felt perfectly miserable!

I lived the If/Then trap of “I’ll be happy if, I’ll be confident when….” I frantically pursued happiness, fulfillment, and finding true meaning for my life. But no matter how much I tried—I couldn’t get ‘perfect enough.’

I never reached perfection (nobody does!), but instead, got mired down in common perfectionism traps of self-criticism, overwork, exhaustion, and feeling empty inside. I felt trapped in this vicious cycle. Then, finally, I learned to free myself, broke free, and never looked back! Now I want to share these invaluable tools with you.

Trust was one important tool I discovered. I learned to trust myself, trusting and allowing my emotions to flourish, allowing myself to be vulnerable and authentic was truly life changing.

I am here to help other women who are mired in self-criticism and self-judgment, afraid of being lost forever in the Perfectionism Trap. I have the tools, and will help you get out of that trap—for good.

Education and Clinical Experience

I grew up in Southern California and I earned my Masters and Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University, Los Angeles. I have worked in several public health settings, including community mental health agencies, college campuses, and private practice settings. This intense clinical training gifted me with extensive experience in healing and coaching women with compulsive perfectionism, disordered eating, mood swings and anxiety disorders, emotional triggers, behavioral control issues, self-harm, and negative self-talk. In addition, I was also a clinical supervisor to case managers and fellow clinicians. In my practice, I integrate many different healing and wholeness methods and provide clients with the very best treatment approaches available. I teach clients how to have emotional and personal pattern awareness, understand emotions, and then create true change, allowing them to heal and move joyfully forward in life.

I am a wife and mother and in my spare time you will likely find me exploring the outdoors, hanging out with friends, hiking, enjoying a delicious meal, or planning my next travel adventure.
